Another week down, and my last full week in the US until May! Absolutely crazyy to think about. I spent it in Adrian, Georgia doing dishes and cleaning sheds ๐งผ๐งน.
After a full 10 days eating very small portions, sweating buckets, and sleeping with the crickets and spiders in our small tents, when we walked into the Adventures Relief dining hall I cannot tell you how blessed we all felt to be eating in air conditioning, with plates FULL and ice in our water. Not to mention a bed to sleep in, air conditioning, flushing toilets and an always available shower! I was hit with such a wave of gratitude I couldnโt stop smiling the entire dinner, honestly the whole week. It was such a reminder that sometimes the greatest blessings come from the simple, mundane things, and that I should be grateful for even the little things in life. Also, it was a great reminder that going through hard things truly pays off, because it makes good things that much more special. Anyways thatโs my soapbox- Iโm hoping off of it now.
I spent the week doing dishes and prepping food for everyone! We fed the people who lived on the base, all the squads doing domestic ministry, and the volunteers who came over from all over Georgia to help at this camp. It was such a great time! You wouldnโt expect to hear that if you heard I spent 6 hours scrubbing food off of who knows how many plates and dishes, but my team is such a blast and we work so well together that it was so much fun. Even in doing that simple ministry of prepping food and cleaning dishes we were able to be used by the Lord, so I canโt imagine doing street evangelism and praying over people for entire days with these girls. God truly blessed me with the best team!
This last week has got me so excited for the next 9 months. In all honesty, this week was more than just domestic ministry. Between late night Walmart and Taco Bell runs, 6 hour van rides, and laughing in the kitchen I truly cannot wait for what these next 9 months have in store for me. I am constantly laughing and filled with the Holy Spirit. It is so indescribable and amazing.
This last week I was challenged with trusting the Lord in everything- even when I donโt feel Him, even when I donโt hear Him speak to me. Just trusting that He is in control and that He has my future, that whatever the outcome of things are is what is best for me, and that He created me uniquely and wonderfully in His image. So Iโm consistently being challenged with that- which hasnโt been fun but has been really transformative. And.. Iโm only 2 weeks in! So who knows how much Iโll be changed in these next 9 months ๐คทโโ๏ธ. Iโm so expectant and excited to see what God does.
Whatโs next?
โ๏ธ We leave for Guatemala on Wednesday at 8:30 AM! Iโll be there for the next few months (and my birthday!!) which is so exciting! So stay tuned for what the Lord does in that!
Prayer requests!
